WebFusion Blog

In this tutorial you will learn how to create a Web 2.0 Text Header for a site or a signature for you to use freely. This is a custom WebFusion Design.

Note: You must have Photoshop in order to follow the below tutorial.

1. Create a new file 510px (Width) by 100px (Height) with a white background background.

2. Type the first of two messages you would like have the effect of the Web 2.0 Text using the Arial font face. Set the alignment of the text to center.

3. Place the text in the middle of your canvas.

4. Next, Duplicate the Text Layer by right clicking the layer box and clicking the Duplicate Layer option.

5. Go to Edit>Transform>Flip Vertical.

6. Move that duplicated text directly underneath the first text layer to where they touch bottom to bottom.

7. Now change the opacity of the duplicated layer to 21%.

Now we are going to add alittle extra to this Web 2.0 Graphic with a couple different brushes.

8. Now create a new layer and click the Paint Brush tool.

9. Select the first Brush which would be called Cross Hatch 4 in the Assorted Brushes Set.

10. Now click the brush on the tips of a couple letters with any color that you want for that brush to make a sparkle on the selected letters.

11. Change the opacity on that layer to 44% to make them alittle more shiny.

12. The Next brush you are now going to select is called Scattered Maple Leaves, set the Mass Diameter of the Brush to 50 Pixels.

13. Now this brush is one of my favorites as it scatters leaves in assorted colors when you click on that screen. Now click about 4 times scattered around the text making them spaced as much as possible to avoid clutter, and you have completed the Web 2.0 Tutorial!
